Large in size, an adult individual can have a wingspan of about 2.5 meters and a weight of up to 200 kilograms. Their tails are very long, accounting for about half of their body length, and they have a sharp stinger at the tail end, which is their defensive weapon and can be used to protect themselves from predators. It is a benthic fish that mainly inhabits sandy or muddy seabeds.
